SoyPass® Soybean meal is well known as a highly valuable protein source because of its high protein content and balanced amino acid composition.
SoyPass® is produced using a unique process, which doubles the amount of by-pass protein in soybean meal. The process takes advantage of naturally occurring wood sugar which, when mixed with Soya binds to part of the protein, protecting it from rumen degradation. During production of SoyPass® careful process control procedures ensure that the proteins become highly rumen undegradable but retain high intestinal digestibility similar to untreated soybean meal.
Research and development work since 1985 has demonstrated that the amino acids are not damaged by the process and remain highly digestible.
SoyPass® has been shown to either increase milk yields when replacing soybean meal in typical dairy rations, or maintaining milk production with lower dietary protein levels. The protein from SoyPass® supports the same production of milk protein at half the amount of supplemental soybean meal. This indicates that SoyPass® significantly improves protein efficiency and reduces nitrogen excretion.

Feed Factors Ltd, and its sister company David T. Boyd Ltd, have been supplying raw materials for the animal feed industry since the beginning of the last century. We have a wide range of products which are ever changing in accordance with market conditions, new legislation, and the change in demand from feed compounders and supermarkets. We have been approved by Coceral and registered for European GTP.
We are one of the few importers of fishmeal into the UK, sourcing a variety of qualities from South America and Scandinavia. The fishmeal is stored in our GAFTA approved, exclusive warehouses on both the East and West coasts. Our fishmeal is largely going to manufacturers of poultry and fishfeed.
Other protein products which we supply include corn gluten meal, 60% protein, which we source from several EU producers. Of the mid proteins, we import sunflower extractions and expellers from Argentina and Ukraine respectively, Argentine linseed expellers, and EU rape extraction and expellers. In addition to the traditional compound feed market, several of our products are going into organic feed manufacture.
We can supply the most expensive products such as potato protein and synthetic lysine where we have exclusive suppliers, to cheap filler products such as grain screenings and wheatbran. As a medium sized shipper and merchant we are able to react quickly to a changing market, and have developed a reputation over the years of reliability and of supplying quality products.
